Shelly has long found comfort, passion, and a creative outlet in the salon atmosphere. After serving as her mother’s minion at her Cleveland-based salon for 5 years, Shelly made the move to Chicago in 2003, to pursue her undergraduate studies. During that time, she worked as a front desk coordinator at a well-known salon where she has remained for over ten years. After graduating from college and working in various non-salon related positions, Shelly decided to return to the salon industry that she had always found so dynamic and fulfilling. She became the salon manager while training in the craft of hair cutting and hair styling under great mentors.
Since then Shelly has taken classes to advance her career including; Vidal Sassoon ABC Cutting, Cutting with Vivienne Mackinder Intercoiffure Miami 2010, Keratin Complex Certification, Wella Color, and Kevin Murphy Styling. She has been a featured stylist on Bangstyle Blog and has work showcased on Hairbrained.me. Her works has also been featured in Turn Magazine Spring 2013 and Like Magazine February 2012. She was apart of the Dove great hair affair which was featured in Glamour magazine in October 2013. While she enjoys the creative outlet that editorial work offers, Shelly has always loved being behind the chair.
Shelly loves creating looks that range from soft and natural to bold and dramatic. She collaborates with her clients to give them a style that works for their lifestyle and overall look. Shelly looks forward to working with clients and to create shapes and dimensional movement that are both easy to maintain and everyday wearable.
